Michael Clark: Technique and Action Photography

Many lovers of adventure and action find in photography an incredible passion: capturing extreme moments aesthetically captured in images that tell an achievement, a talent, a story ...

This is what outdoor photographer and former mountaineer Michael Clark does. He specializes in adventure sports, wild landscaping and travel, applying essential visual and technological techniques to achieve ideal photography. His talent has led him to be published internationally for individuals, publishers, for advertising purposes, among others.

This was stated by Michael himself in a recent interview: “I got to adventure sports photography through climbing. I studied physics at university and when I was a child I took some photos but it was climbing that really got me involved in adventure sports photography. ”

He has worked as a professional photographer since 1996 and integrated digital photography into his repertoire in 2003. He had the opportunity to associate and integrate both technical axes of photography. As a former physicist, he supported the improvement of technology and its use in the profession in which he is currently engaged.

With his talent, momentum and technique, he manages to capture moments of true passion and courage. It is dedicated to generating raw and intense images of athletes in their natural habitat, taking adventure sports to the limit. Work closely with the athletes to photographs, considering the logistics and all the possibilities when executing the photo shoot, always seeking to achieve the best possible photography.

He has found the need to become an athlete himself, even if he is not an extreme athlete himself. When he is in action photographing moments of adventure, he must be able to overcome that wave, or climb that mountain ... And he does so at every opportunity, even if it involves putting his own life at risk, in order to return home with having captured impressive images and shocking. And that will be done with countless adventurers: climbers, kayakers, big wave surfers, and mountain bikers in remote locations around the world.

“I have been an adventure sports photographer for 25 years. I have photographed everything from big wave surfing to mountain biking and ice climbing. I am passionate about adventure sports and exploring what a human being is capable of, ”explained Michael recently.

They will already detail it in their photographs. He stands out for applying daring colors, unique angles and dramatic lighting to his photographs to be able to rarely capture courage and passion in his photographs.

There is no doubt that it puts into practice a perfect combination of logic, technology, talent and effort.
